Remember Allah during Hajj

 Understanding the Qur'an

Commentator: Maulana Syed Abul Ali Maududi

سورۃ نمبر 2 البقرة

Verse number 200

عَعُوذُ بِاللّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

In The Name of Allah, The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful

Faza qzytm mnasكkm fazkrua God كzكrكm abaءkm zkra fmn and desperate people from the world uma Him yqul Aatina per min per alakrة klaq ۞

Translation:

Then, when you have performed the rites of your Hajj, remember Allah as you used to remember your forefathers, and even more. But there is a great difference between those who remember Allah. There is only one of them who says, "Our Lord, give us everything in this world." Such a person has no share in the Hereafter

Interpretation:

سورة الْبَقَرَة 221

After completing the Hajj, the Arabs used to hold meetings in Mina, in which the people of each tribe proudly narrated the deeds of their forefathers and boasted of their greatness. It is being said that leave these ignorant things, spend the time you used to spend in vain, now spend it in the remembrance of Allah and His remembrance. This dhikr refers to the dhikr of the time of semen.
